Dalmatian cities and sea

Tragurio (lat.), currently known as Trogir, was established as a village by Greek colonists, merchants of maternal Issa (Vis) during the 3rd century B.C., although life on the islet, on which the village was located, began in the Prehistoric period. One of the oldest Mediterranean towns with a continuation of existence for 4 thousand years. The castle and fortress are surrounded by walls which form the nucleus of Trogir known as “la più bella e la più artistica isola del mondo”- the most beautiful and artistic island in the world. The town of Trogir is situated on the shores of Kaštel bay, on the island between Čiovo and the mainland, connected to the land by means of a stone bridge, and is composed of 8 villages: Arbanija, Divulje, Drvenik Mali (Ploča), Drvenik Veliki, Mastrinka, Plano, Trogir and Žedno.
